Run Iceland 2026

Running through South Iceland in late August is like stepping into a living postcard - one that changes every hour. Over 5 days, you’ll cover 125 miles of volcanic trails, black sand beaches, glacier-fed rivers, and canyon edges, all under endless daylight and ever-shifting skies. One minute it’s sunshine and silence; the next, you’re powering through mist with waterfalls thundering beside you. It’s not about speed - it’s about the shared adventure, the grit, and the sheer joy of moving through one of the wildest, most surreal landscapes on Earth. The terrain will challenge you, the weather will keep you humble, and by the end, you’ll have stories (and trail dirt) that stay with you forever. We will spend our final day relaxing, recovering and reminiscing about it all at Sky lagoon, enjoying their 7 step spa ritual.

Who’s This For?

Runners who want something more meaningful than a timed race. You should be comfortable with back-to-back long days and open to the unpredictability of Icelandic weather. This isn’t easy - but it’s absolutely doable.

Whether you’re chasing your first ultra or just want to cover serious ground in an epic place, you’ll fit right in.

What’s Iceland Like?

Late August is one of the best times of year to be running in Iceland. You’ll get long daylight hours with just enough nightfall to catch the northern lights as we camp at one of the top trails in the world. We will have cool temps (10–16°C), more stable weather, and (usually) the clearest views of the country’s most iconic landscapes - glaciers, black sand beaches, mossy lava fields, and waterfalls at full force.
